Send a Drone

Pilot Deliverable & Conduct Standards

Version 1.3 · Effective October 16, 2026 · Send a Drone, LLC

These standards describe the results Send a Drone needs on every Mission and the legal and privacy rules that protect customers and the public. Sections marked Binding are part of your Pilot Independent Contractor Agreement. Sections marked Recommended practice are advice from experienced pilots: you decide how to fly, and not following a recommended practice is never by itself a breach. Nothing here replaces FAA rules, airspace requirements, waivers, manufacturer limitations or your judgment as remote pilot in command. Send a Drone does not make the operational decision for any flight; you do.

1. Accepting and withdrawing — Binding

Accept only work within your qualifications, service area, insurance, equipment and lawful authority. Do not try to identify the exact property from the general area shown before acceptance. You receive an offer only after the customer has paid and every required consent is recorded.

If you cannot complete a Mission you accepted, withdraw in the app ("Withdraw from this mission") as soon as the reason is reasonably known, and choose the reason. Weather, a TFR or other airspace restriction, safety, aircraft or equipment failure, and illness or emergency are qualifying causes and are never counted against you. Once you have started travel, report a stop with "Report no-go" instead. Not appearing for an accepted Mission without arrival or timely communication is a no-show and counts as a confirmed performance failure. There are no fines or penalties for withdrawals or no-shows.

2. Records you make in the app — Binding

Record travel and arrival ("Start travel" and "Mark arrival") truthfully when they happen; these records set trip and cancellation amounts. Travel can be recorded only within 24 hours before the scheduled window. Record your day-of confirmation with the site contact, your own airworthiness determination for each Mission, and a preflight confirmation for each flight (section 4), before the flight; the app will not start a flight without the airworthiness record and the preflight confirmation.

3. Mission boundary, consent and privacy — Binding

  • Before flying, confirm with the site contact that access and consent are unchanged.
  • Verify that the site in front of you matches the Mission address and boundary before capturing. Capturing the wrong property is a serious quality failure.
  • Deliberately capture only property inside the Mission boundary. Excluded parcels and common areas are off limits as subjects.
  • Do not capture dwelling interiors, people as subjects, or people in places where they expect privacy. On a multifamily Mission, no unit, balcony, window or resident is a subject.
  • Frame wide and approach shots so neighboring property and people stay incidental. Do not hover over or zoom toward neighboring property.
  • If anyone on site says they did not consent, or raises a privacy concern, stop capturing that subject, stay courteous, report it as a consent objection under the SOP, and do not continue the affected part of the Mission until Send a Drone confirms.
  • If the Mission appears to lack consent or authority (for example the site is not what the Mission describes), decline that part of the Mission and report it.
  • Do not fly over a facility listed in Customer Terms of Service section 12 unless the Mission shows the required consent and you hold every FAA authorization the flight needs.

4. Preflight confirmation and no-go authority — Binding

You are responsible for airspace compliance, flight planning, operational safety and the final decision to fly. Send a Drone does not check airspace or certify that a location can be flown, and nothing it shows you is an airspace determination or an authorization.

Before each flight, including each visit of a 4-Pack, each attempt after a no-go and each recapture that needs another flight, complete the preflight confirmation in the app. Confirm that:

  • you checked the airspace and any airspace restriction that applies;
  • you checked current NOTAMs and temporary flight restrictions;
  • you obtained any FAA authorization or waiver the flight requires (enter its reference), or confirmed that none is required;
  • the aircraft and the operation meet the applicable requirements, including registration, Remote ID and altitude limits;
  • weather, obstacles, people and site conditions are acceptable; and
  • you, as remote pilot in command, independently decide that the flight can be conducted legally and safely, and you will confirm again if anything material changes before the flight.

A confirmation covers one flight and expires if the flight does not start within three hours. If weather, airspace, flight conditions or operational circumstances change materially before the flight, withdraw it in the app and confirm again. A change to the Mission's date, time window, location or assigned pilot, or a new on-site objection, cancels it automatically. A recapture that only corrects files, without another flight, needs no confirmation. Confirm only what is true.

Do not launch, or stop the flight, when it would be unsafe or unlawful. Report every no-go in the app with "Report no-go" and the reason: weather, an airspace restriction, a TFR, an FAA authorization you could not obtain, or another safety reason. A site access problem is reported the same way, for Send a Drone to decide under the Cancellation, Refund & Recapture Policy. A documented, good-faith no-go is never a breach and never counts against you; the customer is not penalized, and a trip amount is paid if you had recorded travel. Flying after declaring a no-go, flying without a preflight confirmation or with a false one, ignoring a safety stop, or continuing after a consent objection is grounds for suspension.

5. Deliverables — Binding

Capture every required item for the service under the Deliverables Standard. The app shows the required items, which are critical, and your progress. Upload files only through the app, to the correct Mission.

  • Stills: edited JPEG, sRGB, 4000 to 6000 pixels on the long edge. Stills under 3000 pixels are refused; 3000 to 3999 pixels are accepted and flagged below target.
  • Video, where the service includes it: MP4, 1080p minimum, 24 to 30 frames per second, stabilized and silent. Target lengths are 20 to 30 seconds for Listing Aerials and Construction Progress, and 45 to 60 seconds for the CRE Site Package. The app refuses Listing and Construction clips shorter than 20 or longer than 45 seconds, and CRE clips shorter than 45 or longer than 90 seconds.
  • Upload by 10:00 a.m. in the property's local time on the next calendar day. A late upload is flagged and carries no fee.
  • Submit the Mission for review when the required items are accounted for. The app checks every critical item and the 75% minimum before accepting a submission.

6. Unable to capture (N/A) — Binding

Mark an item unable to capture only if it does not exist at the property, or cannot be captured safely or lawfully that day, and give a one-line reason. "Forgot," "skipped," "ran out of time," equipment problems you caused, and poor images are not valid reasons. A critical or disputed item counts as unable to capture only after Send a Drone accepts it.

7. Media integrity and use — Binding

Edit only exposure, white balance, cropping, straightening and lens correction. Do not apply heavy filters, replace skies, remove objects or otherwise alter imagery in a way that misrepresents site conditions. Send a Drone applies privacy blurring itself. Mission imagery belongs to Send a Drone: use it only to fly, fulfill and deliver the Mission; delete local copies within the period in your Agreement; do not sell, publish or repurpose it, or share it through public links; and do not use recognizable Mission or property imagery publicly unless the customer and Send a Drone have both given written permission.

8. Quality review and recapture — Binding

Send a Drone reviews every submission and decides whether each file is usable and each unable-to-capture reason is valid. If a critical item is missing or unusable because of your error, or fewer than 75% of required items are accounted for on a reasonably flyable Mission, you recapture the affected items at no charge. A recapture caused by your error is a quality failure under your Agreement. After a failed recapture, Send a Drone may ask for one final attempt, which is not counted as a second failure for the same deficiency.

9. Customers and communication — Binding

The exact address, boundary and site contact are available only after you are assigned to the paid Mission. Keep operational communication on the platform, and contact the site contact only as needed for access and the day-of confirmation. Do not solicit business from customers introduced through the platform. Report complaints, consent objections, law-enforcement contacts, accidents, security incidents and significant site conflicts under the Mission Safety & Incident Response SOP.

10. Flight preparation — Recommended practice

The binding preflight confirmation is in section 4; this section is practical advice. Before each flight, experienced pilots confirm certificate and recency, aircraft registration and Remote ID, any airspace authorization, weather and manufacturer limits, and the condition of the aircraft, batteries, link and camera. They assess people, traffic, structures, obstacles, wires and interference; plan takeoff, landing and emergency options; and review the Mission's site-access notes and boundary map. During flight they keep visual line of sight unless a valid authority permits otherwise and yield to crewed aircraft. Same-day upload is encouraged, and extra useful frames are welcome within the service's gallery limit.
