Schedule C — Pilot Qualification Standard (Summary)
Version 1.2 · Send a Drone, LLC
Reference summary. The Pilot Qualification Standard as implemented in the platform is authoritative. The pilot-facing statement of these gates is Pilot Independent Contractor Agreement sections 3 and 18.
Who may be Active and receive offers or hold requests
A pilot is eligible only when the account is Active and every gate passes on the Mission's date. For example, a certificate of insurance must cover the Mission date. The same check is used for coverage, hold requests, dispatch offers, offer acceptance, assignment and activation.
- FAA Part 107. Passes when: Certificate number on file, and photos of both sides of the certificate or an FAA airmen-record screenshot, verified for that number. Who decides: Send a Drone.
- Recency. Passes when: Initial knowledge test or most recent recurrent training within the preceding 24 calendar months. Who decides: Send a Drone.
- Identity. Passes when: 18 or older and U.S. work authorization attested; legal name verified to match the certificate. Who decides: Send a Drone.
- Insurance. Passes when: Verified certificate of insurance: UAS or aviation liability of $1,000,000 or more per occurrence, annual or on-demand, effective on the date checked. Who decides: Send a Drone.
- Agreements. Passes when: Current acceptance of the Pilot Agreement, Deliverable & Conduct Standards, Payout Policy and Privacy Policy, and acknowledgment of the Safety SOP. Who decides: Pilot.
- Aircraft. Passes when: At least one approved aircraft the pilot owns or controls, FAA-registered, Remote ID capable. Who decides: Send a Drone.
- Service area. Passes when: Operating base, an active service radius and at least one service offered. Who decides: Pilot.
- Sample work. Passes when: Accepted sample set: at least 8 stills, or 1 video clip and 5 stills. Who decides: Send a Drone.
Not gates: flight-hour minimums, logbooks or background checks; ratings (to become Active); additional-insured status; a camera of about 12 MP or better, which is a guideline only. Pilots cannot verify their own credentials, and a changed credential returns to review.
Suspension, pause and return
- Automatic suspension when verified insurance or recency lapses. Open offers and holds are withdrawn, and upcoming Missions are flagged for reassignment.
- Performance pause pending review when, after 5 completed paid Missions, the average rating over the last 5 is below 4.0; or when 2 failures are confirmed within 90 days. A pilot-caused recapture and a no-show each count. A qualifying withdrawal, a Send a Drone-caused recapture, a valid N/A, a weather, airspace, safety or consent stop, and a customer preference do not. Three non-qualifying withdrawals within 30 days lead to a review. The pilot is told the reason and may respond.
- Suspension for cause, with a recorded reason: lapsed or false credentials; flying after a no-go, ignoring a safety stop or continuing after a consent objection; wrong-property or out-of-boundary capture, or fabricated deliverables; circumventing the platform; data leaks, threats or harassment; an unreported or significant incident; a chargeback or claim caused by the pilot; a failed additional-insured request; fraud; or material breach.
- Return to Active only after Send a Drone confirms that every gate passes again.
